Stephanie Luescher

Bio/Description

Stephanie Luescher is a fourth-year PhD student in Near Eastern Studies at Princeton. Her research interest lies in reconstructing the social and cultural history of the medieval Middle East through documents and manuscript marginalia.

In her first two years at Princeton, she focused on deciphering documents from the Cairo Geniza collections and acted as Project Manager for the Princeton Geniza Project’s collaboration with the Center for Digital Humanities.

Her dissertation will explore the Islamic Manuscripts held in Princeton, the largest collection of Middle Eastern manuscripts in North America, and track their provenance and movements through marginalia.
